Pneumatic Timers

Pneumatic Timers are intrinsically safe and can be used where no electrical power is available. They are also suitable for certain ATEX applications. Pneumatic Timers can be panel or surface mounted.

Range Overview

There are three designs to choose from. The industry standard is the "clockface" Kuhnke 54 series pneumatic timer. It is identical to the Norgren Pneumatic Timer, Bosch Pneumatic Timer and Festo Pneumatic Timer. The Kuhnke 54 series is suitable for short (10 secs) and long (<100 hours) time ranges. There are 6 panel mounted options, each NO/NC*.

A low cost pneumatic mini-timer is available for short time ranges (< 300 secs). Available in panel or DIN rail mounting, there are 3 models all NC*.

To complete the range, the base mounted Kuhnke 51 series timer comes in 3 time ranges, either NC or NO*. This line does not have visible "time elapsed/set" and is designed for enclosed "tamperproof" applications. Identical to Norgren base mounted pneumatic timers.

* NC & NO refer to the operating conditions of the timer. NC = Normally Closed (compressed air passes on time out) and NO = Normally Open (compressed air is stopped on time out). Click on the products index for more detail.

 

Other Pneumatic Timers

The TTCC range of pneumatic timers includes the Ellis Kuhnke PT and PMT Series short interval timers with 1/8NPTF connections.

All pneumatic timers use a constant supply of compressed air to operate the timing mechanism. Kuhnke 54 series, the clock face type, are also available with a special "rotor stop" function which stops the timing mechanism from bleeding air between the time-out signal and reset. The is a valuable feature where compressed air or similar non aggressive medium is in short supply (i.e. sourced from cylinders).

General Advice
